Introduction to St. Norbert’s

St. Norbert’s has been on its current site for over 50 years, the school has grown over the past 50 years from two classrooms to the seven, single form entry it is now. Our school has gone through an amazing transformation over the past ten years with the addition of two new classrooms, new hall and outdoor classroom.

The main aim of the school is to try to provide an education for children suited to their age, ability, aptitude and needs so that they are encouraged and helped to reach their full potential. The school is eager to build and develop a partnership between the family, the school and the Church that encourages and supports the children as they develop and mature. The school sees the child as being at the heart of the education process and believes that to be fully effective the curriculum must relate directly to each child’s needs as well as the teachers’ skills and the resources and facilities available. Each child needs to be helped to learn and to progress at his/her own pace, whilst being fully stretched. Ability comes in a variety of forms and this school strives to recognise these and reward any meaningful talents.

The school also provides an experience of a living Catholic community and in this way plays its part in the initiation of the children into the full life of the Church. St. Norbert’s has very strong links with the Parish with children attending Mass. The children at St. Norbert’s are very well supported by families and parishioners throughout their faith journey including Sacramental preparation.

We look forward to welcoming you and your children to our thriving school community.
